This Persian calligraphy invokes prayers that are dedicated to our Prophet Muhammed and Hazrat Ali. I think it reads: "O Allah Give your blessings to our Prophet Muhammed and his great disciple Ali. (The Salwaat) Purify our hearts and souls, bless us all, and group us with your virtuous children"

Free Will is the view that the "self" determines its volitions from itself without being determined to do so by anything else. The psychology of "will", on which determinism is based is an erroneous one. A close examination of the facts of our inner life reveals that the strength of motives depends esssentially on the mind itself and not on antecdent circumstances. It is the mind itself that determines the direction and strength of its own desire by the exercise of its own reason. It is true the mind is acted on by forces from without,
producing desires in it, but it is itself at the same time a centre of energy. Freedom of Will manifests itself in the choice between different possible alternatives, courses of action guided by reason.Had man been completely determined as theology says, there would have been no need of DIVINE GUIDANCE and meaning in REWARD AND PUNISHMENT.
"Flowers and perfumes hath no smell--but the smell of Thy bliss. Let me taste the wine Thine sight;Witness Thy glorious Light".

Dear Nina: RANDOM THOUGHTS:KNOWLEDGE: Gain knowledge: it adorns you if you are rich, and feeds you, if not rich. There is no treasure like knowledge. WISDOM AND BELIEFS:These are twin brothers:God accepts not one without the other.EDUCATION: Who never corrects himself, will never correct another.HYPOCRICY: hypocrites robe themselves in lies. The hypocrite has sweet tongue, but a bitter heart. A hypocrite's tongue is clean, but there is sickness hidden in his/her heart.

Dear Nina:OUR EMOTIONS: A HUMAN TREASURE:Perhaps nine out of ten of human life finds its expression in emotions. Deprive a man of his feelings of love, hatred, joy, fear, hope, sympthy, empathy, aspirations, patriotism and all the thrills and excitement, and you will have nothing left of him.Religion, art, poetry, drama, novels, music and all such activities of man which are the wealth-riches of his life and insouled and enliven by emotions.Emotions are created by God to enrich the life of man, and therefore they are of help.It is through emotions that parents bear heavy burdens of upbringing the children. It is on emotions rest the solidarity of a community or a nation.Positive emotions like fear help save our lives; negative emotions like anxiety and phobia are hiderance. As you see, so you feel; As you feel, so you think; As you think, so you will; As you will, so you act.

Revised. Dear Nina:ABSOLUTE DEVOTION TO IMAM-E-ZAMAN:The other night at Khane, when we saw the documentary on "Al-Azar Park" costing million, and Hazar Imam with Egyptian official working in noon-day sun to see evrything was according to plan,it touched Murid's heart. We are passing through very critical time and never before such in history of mankind, not from political and economical standpoints, but from religion as well. This being so, it is incumbent upon every one of us to make sure that not only ourselves but also our children have the correct and clear concept of IMAMAT.Then the inevitable conclusion must follow that Imam-e-Zaman's ways and actions are inscrutable, and so beyond man's comprehension even more so than Khidr's were to Moases' prophetic understanding. H.E.Mohamed PS.Dear Nina, I have revised the submission I sent you earlier. This is the shorter version and some corrections thereof. I am sure it would be acceptable for the entry.

Dear Nina:THE GREATER PURPOSE OF EDUCATION:The students from kindergarten to Higher institutions would be repairing at the altar of learning. The most important task of life is to preserve what is left of civilization and out of this to build something "Nearer to our heart's desire". Education is small value if it cannot help us in most important of all tasks. That we can state its puropose in a thousand definitions does not alter the fact that it has a supreme purpose, and all definitions depend on this. What is the purpose?Besides earning our livlihood,IT is to train the individual in such a manner as to make him fit in with the needs of society to which he belongs. But "society" is not static. It is in process of change; the well educated man in his turn, steers the society in right direction. It is a "merit" society; the prizes of life go to maritorious. It is the fittest who will survive.
