Idd-e-Gadir-e-Kum

What constitutes the fundamental difference between the Sunnis and the Shias and what forms the integral and controversial part of Islamic history is what transpired in the year 632 in a place called Gadirekhum.

Gadirekhum is that historic and memorable place where the cause of Islam was established. It is the place where Rasulullah (SAW) pronounced Nass upon Maulana Ali(A.S) to uphold the teachings of Islam.

After Rasulullah(SAW) performed his last Haj in the year 10 Hijri, Allah Taala directed him to spread the Farizat of Walayat. Hence, in accordance with the Farman of Allah he proceeded to Gadirekhum which is at a distance of about seventy five miles away from Mecca, on the way to Medina. With great shaan he ascended the Mimbar which was constructed for him and prayed the Jumma Khutba amongst the seventy thousand Muslimeen present. As per the divine ordinance, he declared that henceforth for who I was Maula now Ali will be Maula. Hence, in this manner with aplomb he proclaimed Maulana Ali (A.S) to be his successor for the cause of keeping Islam alive. After the Nass on Maulana Ali (A.S.) Rasullullah (SAW) took Misak (Beaat) for three consecutive days. To the wise only an indication is sufficient. Those who understood His message rightly are the winners. We are what we are today due to the correct interpretation of His message. Our humble and continuos shukr to Allah Subhanahu for His divine plan ordained for us. Today we offer our shukr to Syedna(TUS) for leading us on the path of the Shariat.

Hence Eid-e-Gadirekum is of special significance to us. On this day we observe the roza, the sawab of which is equivalent to that of performing a hundred Haj and a hundred Umrahs. The namaz prayed in the afternoon has the sawab equivalent of performing one Lakh Haj and one Lakh Umrah. Allah the Rahman, The Rahim will surely fulfill your desires. A mumin who arranges for the Iftar will be rewarded generously and be the recipient of Allah's lavish nemat and barakaat. It is relevant to note that this historic place of Gadirekhum was verified by Syedna Taher Saifuddin Saheb(RA) during his visit to Mecca/Medina. Indeed, there is no day, but the day of Gadirekhum for which Allah has granted azeem Hurmat.
